Avoid Schemes, Scams, and Fraud: Financial Seminar at McDowell Senior Center

The Marion CDC together with Wells Fargo Bank, Marion Police Department, and the McDowell Senior Center, presents a free seminar: “Avoid Schemes, Scams, and Fraud: Financial Skills Seniors Need to Know”, at the McDowell Senior Center March 28th  from 9:30-11:00 am. Many financial scams target senior citizens. Join Heather Cotton from Marion CDC, Courtney Intres from Wells Fargo, and Lt Rusty Jenkins from the Marion Police Department for an event focused on this important issue especially for senior citizens and their families. You will learn about common phone, mail, and email scams, how to protect your financial information from scammers and identity theft, common ‘red flags’ to watch for, and what to do if you or a loved one has been targeted by a financial scam or fraud.
