Personal Finance Series Part 1 on March 28th: Avoiding Schemes, Scams, and Fraud

Community partners from the Marion Police Department and Wells Fargo Bank kicked off MCDC’s Personal Finance series with a frank and open discussion of financial schemes, scams, and fraud. McDowell County Senior Center hosted this event with presentations by Personal Banker Courtney Intres from Wells Fargo and Lt Rusty Jenkins, head of Marion PD’s Criminal Investigations Division. We learned basic “red flags” and specific information to create a stronger personal shield against would-be financial frauds and scams. Thank you so much to all who participated! A video of this presentation will also be available on McDowell County’s government channel.
